The Department hosts and collaborates with several research centers dedicated to advancing knowledge in education, neuroscience, and physical activity. These centers reflect the Department’s commitment to interdisciplinary and cutting-edge research:
CRESIA
The Center is configured as a Departmental Research Center, aimed at carrying out relevant activities on permanent or temporary projects. The center involves the Department of Engineering of the Pegaso Telematic University. The research center is established to organize and carry out multi-year scientific projects of particular relevance and adherence to the University Strategic Plan. It can manage scientific laboratories or apparatuses and coordinate the activities of afferent research groups. The main activities put in place by the Center are developed in the following areas and with the following objectives:
conservation and enhancement of the built heritage with historical, artistic or urban/environmental;
reduction of vulnerabilities of the existing built environment, including civil, hydraulic and transportation infrastructures, land protection and energy production;
energy efficiency of buildings for environmental and economic sustainability; regeneration of urbanized and built-up land, improvement of comfort and urban and building quality from a smart city perspective;
machine learning, with applications to civil, industrial and environmental engineering, spatial analysis and architecture;
artificial intelligence (AI) in civil engineering to improve the efficiency of civil works projects.
In addition, the Center conducts various instrumental examinations, including:
Structural and environmental surveys;
LCA.
LURAM
The “LURAM – Laboratorio Universitario Ricerca Additive Manufacturing, augmented reality and materials” is an inter-university research facility located at JIRAMA srl, Via Medina 5, 80133 Naples (NA). The laboratory is dedicated to advancing scientific and technological innovations in several cutting-edge fields, including Additive Manufacturing, augmented reality, and materials science. Its mission includes conducting research and development, prototyping, product and process industrialization, and providing consultancy services to both public and private entities.
The laboratory places particular emphasis on:
CAD modeling Design for Additive Manufacturing 3D scanning Small-scale production runs Surface finishing processes 3D sculpting and organic modeling 3D printing Cross-disciplinary skills Technology transformations and human-centered design Innovative methods for industrial research Artificial intelligence
Additionally, LURAM strives to contribute to the scientific community through the publication of research papers, the creation of patents, and the development of prototypes. The laboratory also organizes seminars, conferences, and collaborative projects with universities and research institutions, promoting international knowledge exchange and fostering the growth of young scholars.
